Houston, Texas

Houston is the 4th most populous city in the United States. The people are kind and charming. My heart has been warmed passing by a stranger and getting to know local residents. Food and drinks are highly accessible and delicious. Houston also has some of the best churches (St. Johns Downtown and Lakewood). I am honored to have loved ones that are thriving in Houston.

Areas:
Downtown/Montrose/Galleria
The nation’s fourth largest city, Houston is a vast, sprawling metropolis comprising numerous, very unique neighborhoods. Though it’s better known as a booming commercial and financial center than a tourist destination, it’s one of the biggest cultural hubs in Texas, with top-notch art museums, a thriving performing arts scene, and excellent food and nightlife. The best place to stay will depend on your budget, what your main focus will be, and what sort of transport you’ll be using. Downtown is relatively convenient if you don’t want to drive, though the Montrose/Museum District is better if art and culture are the primary draws. Shoppers will prefer Galleria/Uptown, though you’ll need a car here and a decent budget. I usually rent a car because Houston is spread out.

Restaurants:
Lotus Seafood
There was a line when I arrived at Lotus, which is a good sign to me that something on the menu is worth waiting in line. The shrimps and sausages were delicious, and crack sauce… well it's called crack sauce for a reason. I ate in the space and I have never seen so many orders being distributed.

Turkey Leg Hut
The turkey leg is delicious, and this is the place I found out about boudin balls. There are a variety of turkey legs including one the shrimp alfredo leg. The portions are large!

At this iconic Houston attraction, guests can discover all about the possibilities of space travel, see how astronauts prepare for their journeys, and get an up-close look at real spacecraft, astronaut suits, and interstellar equipment. Drinks:

Voodoo Queen Daiquiri Dive

Vibrant watering hole with drinks, po'boys, pool, and electronic darts. It is a great space for smiles and laughs. The bartenders are kind and lively.

Frozen Vibes: Daiquiri Bar 2 GO

If you happened to be staying by the airport (IAH), then Frozen Vibes will put you in a vibe. The drinks are reasonably prices and strong. I am a light wight, so I can only drink one! I am also a big fan of the Jell-O shots!
