Cancun, Mexico
Cancun has beautiful beaches and a busy nightlife. This is a place where you can find peace, but you can also find excitement. The people are kind and willing to help your efforts at having a good time.
Areas:
Hotel Zone or Zona Hotelera
Anywhere in the Hotel Zone makes a great home base for first-time visitors to Cancún. This 22-km-long stretch of beach offers a little of everything for any kind of traveler. This is where to find the bulk of Cancún’s restaurants, nightlife, attractions, and shopping, though most resorts here are like their own mini-cities with dining, nightclubs, enormous pools, and even a few with water parks – a lot of guests never leave their resorts.
Middle Hotel Zone, El Centro
Though many resorts have their own nightclubs onsite, Cancun’s main party zone is found in the Middle Hotel Zone at its juncture with the North Hotel Zone, known as Punta Cancún or Uptown. This 500-meter strip is lined on both sides of the road with lively bars and nightclubs including popular chains like Coco Bongo, Señor Frog’s, Mandala, and La Vaquita. Most clubs here are multi-level mega-parties with live music and DJs, some with acrobats, gogo dancers, showgirls, and more. These clubs get incredibly crowded, especially during American and Canadian Spring Break times, usually from mid-March to mid-April.
Stays:
Hyatt Ziva Cancun
This stunning beachfront resort is set on the beautiful strip of Punta Cancun and framed by the Caribbean Sea, where you can enjoy a white sand beach and clear-blue waters.
Airbnb
I have found better deals on Airbnb versus some hotels.
Restaurants:
Fred's | The best seafood in Cancun
This place is great! The food, the service and the atmosphere, amazing. You must go here if you like seafood and want to try cocktails too! It can be a little pricey.
RosaNegra | Latin American Restaurant in Cancun
There was a really cool fire show at 9pm. Staff and servers were very attentive and food/drinks were mind blowing. Great place to celebrate occasions! Prices were pretty high.
Activities:
Cancun Speedboat and Snorkel Adventuring (Tour Booking)
Leave the hustle and bustle of everyday life behind as you take off aboard a 2-seat speedboat. After slip into crystal waters for snorkeling among vibrant tropical fish amidst mesmerizing coral formations—all lead by expert tour guides who will make sure this journey won't be forgotten.
Chichén Itzá
Chichén Itzá is a large Mayan archaeological site and one of the most notable and recognized landmarks on the Yucatán peninsula. The site itself was originally a main hub of Mayan civilization and has since been named a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The focal point of the ruins is the pyramid-like El Castillo that was once used by Mayans as a temple to the god Kukulkan.
Gyms:
I used the resort gym this go around.
Desserts:
IELO Soft Serve
Yummy and Healthy 🙌🏻 Palms down for places like this, delicious and thinking of you, they have vegan and keto options and not expensive, they don’t use cane sugar or corn syrup… I think this is my new favorite ice cream place in Cancun 😀
Ah Cacao Chocolate Café
My favorite desert here is the brownie, followed by brownie. It’s really good. Chocolate croissants was also good while cheese cake and carrot cake were just okay. There is also a nice outside seating area and a photo opportunity by the swing.
Drinks: (Tons of places)
Tequila
It doesn’t matter where you are in Mexico, tequila is the most popular drink in the country. In fact, there is only one specific region where they make this drink and that is in the western state of Jalisco.
Paloma
Are you looking for an alcoholic drink that is not only tasty but refreshing too? You are in luck since Paloma is fast becoming a local favorite. In fact, this refreshing drink makes use of tequila Blanco, lime, and grapefruit soda or juice served on the rocks.
