Barcelona, Spain
Barcelona, Spain is an amazing city. There are several things to do (the beach, the city, and the architecture) This trip I met some beautiful souls from Tunisia, Israel, and America whom helped me create wonderful moments in Barcelona.
Areas:
Gothic Quarter – Barri Gòtic
The Gothic Quarter is the best neighborhood to stay in Barcelona for first-timers. It is located in the city center, the Gothic Quarter (Also called Barri Gotic in Catalan) is within walking distance of many attractions, tapas bars, and the main pedestrian street of La Rambla.
El Born
El Born is the home of the city’s nightlife and where to stay in Barcelona if you love partying. In the day, you can zip around the medieval alleyways window shopping (or actually treating yourself) at designer boutiques. In the evening, these boutique shops close their shutters, and cocktail, samba, and tapas bars take over.
Stays:
Mercer Hotel Barcelona
This stunning luxury hotel is where to stay in the Gothic Quarter if you want to indulge. The Mercer Hotel Barcelona has modern amenities, including a rooftop terrace, and a minimalistic-design outdoor pool.
Hotel Ciutadella Barcelona
It has beautiful, stylish rooms. Hotel Ciutadella Barcelona has an ideal central setting within 293 m of Santa María del Mar Church, Ciutadella Park, and Barceloneta Metro Station. It has easy access to the historic Born and Gothic districts.
Restaurants:
Surf House Barcelona
The location and the atmosphere are nice if you are at the beach. The service was great. The nachos were fantastic.
FitBar Gòtic - Açai Bowls & Healthy Food
The acai bowl and the tapioca was great! It's healthy and tasty! There's no seating inside, so this is a good choice when it's sunny.
Activities:
La Sagrada Familia
When you walk past the building, it will give you a sense of wonder. You will definitely want to head inside to witness all the wonder!
Barceloneta Beach
Barceloneta is the city’s most famous (and traditional) beach. The beach can be busy, but it is a great place to vibe.
Gyms:
Holmes Place
The gym is fully equipped and clean. It is quite pricey.
VivaGym Universitat | Gimnasio en Barcelona
This is a great place for travelers to get a day pass. It's about 10€ and you have to sign up at the desk. Gym had everything we needed, even some new machines to try like kickbacks & a hip thrust pad.
Desserts:
DeLaCrem
This ice cream was delicious. I almost rebooked a trip back to Barcelona just for this ice cream!
Drinks:
Sangria
While Barcelona locals do drink Sangria, this beverage is really a tourist favorite!
Cava
Also known as Spanish wine, Cava is often the drink of choice for locals in Barcelona. You’ll find all kinds of establishments selling Cava, and you can even get it relatively cheap. But don’t worry, it’s still often a very high-quality beverage.
